Unicity's
Medical Advisory Board is comprised of practicing healthcare
professionals ÷ cardiologists, family practitioners,
gynecologists, ophthalmologists, nurses, sports medicine
experts, and dietitians ÷ who are passionate about health
care. These medical advisors constantly validate our
nutritional research and development and work with our
scientists to ensure that Unicity's advanced formulations
are efficacious (having the power to produce the desired
effect) and meet the highest standards in medical and
clinical research and safety.
The
Medical Advisory Board, together with Unicity scientists
and researchers, monitor and enable clinical trials
and testing in health professional practices, universities,
and research organizations. Their diligence and expertise
have resulted in eight Unicity products being listed
in the Physicians'
Desk Reference (PDR), the leading reference
guide of physicians and hospitals for more than 50 years.

Peter
J.E. Verdegem, Ph.D
Unicity Chief Science Officer
Dr. Peter J.E. Verdegem is the
ideal science officer for an international company
with products based on scientific research. He
has devoted his life to scientific research and
is fluent in five languages.
Dr. Verdegem obtained a Master
of Science Degree in Organic Chemistry from the
University of Leiden in the Netherlands, his native
country. After four years of research on the structure
and dynamics of the human eye, he received a Ph.D.
Degree in Bioorganic Photochemistry. During his
post-doctoral research at Stockholm University
in Sweden, he developed techniques to study proteins
at molecular levels. At Nijmegen University Medical
Center in the Netherlands, Dr. Verdegem developed
a non-invasive technology to diagnose prostate
cancer.
Through his work at Royal Numico
Research & Development, Dr. Verdegem helped develop
and clinically substantiate dietary supplements
for a broad variety of health concerns, such as
menopause, prostate health, eye health, Alzheimer's,
ADHD, dyslexia, diabetes and obesity. His work
has been published in over 20 peer-reviewed publications.
In 2004, Dr. Verdegem moved to Utah and joined
Unicity International as the company's Chief Science
Officer. He is responsible for new product development,
clinical substantiation of our products, and the
scientific training of Associates.

Janet Bloom
Medical Marketing Strategist and Consultant
Jan Bloom spent her early days
in healthcare in the field of respiratory therapy
before serving a ten year term as Chief Administrator
and Marketing Director for a large family medicine
practice in Boca Raton, Florida. In 1994 Jan founded
Natural Health Concepts, Inc., a company dedicated
to recruiting, educating and training healthcare
professionals throughout the world on innovative
technologies in the field of preventive and integrative
medicine. Her company focused on the development
and implementation of preventive health strategies
within the classical medical practice.
Jan grew the company to reach
thousands of people globally and has impacted
medical practices across the United States. Her
educational process not only targets physicians
but recruits and trains many allied healthcare
professionals such as Registered Dietitians, Nurse
Practitioners, and Physician Assistants.
Jan is a dynamic and accomplished
speaker, trainer, and author of several CD's designed
to educate the medical community on expanding
their services and supplementing their practices
by building a preventive health business. She
has been widely recognized for her successful
leadership and business development as an Associate
with Unicity International and serves as co-chairman
of their Global Medical Advisory Board. Jan propels
the company's mission to Make Life Better, empowering
health and financial wellness for a global community.

Gerald F. Bresnahan,, M.D., FACC
Internal Medicine and Cardiology
Dr. Jerry Bresnahan graduated
from Stritch-Loyola Medical School in 1967. He
is board certified in both internal medicine and
cardiology and is a Fellow of the American College
of Cardiology. He is chairman of the Cardiothoracic
Committee of a major cardiac center in Los Angeles.
For twelve years, Dr. Bresnahan was the cardiologist
on call in the Los Angeles area for the President
of the United States, the Pope, and numerous visiting
dignitaries. He still practices actively as both
a clinical and interventional cardiologist. He
has recently authored an acclaimed book on natural
alternatives for treating heart disease entitled,
Bios Life 2, Your Number 1 Prevention Against
the Number 1 Killer.
Dr. Bresnahan presently lives
in Los Angeles with his wife and five children.

Sylvester
Domme, M.D., FAAFP, FAEP
Dr. Sylvester Domme graduated
in 1975 from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas,
with a major in Chemistry and a minor in Physics.
In 1978 he received his M.D. from the University
of Kansas School of Medicine and finished at the
top of his class, being awarded the distinguished
Mahlon Delp Award in Internal Medicine. Dr. Domme
served an internship at St. Luke's Hospital in
Kansas City from 1978 to 1979 and completed a
Family Practice Residency from 1990 to 1993 at
St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.
He is a Diplomate with the American Board of Family
Practice and a Fellow with the American Academy
of Family Physicians. He also is a Fellow of the
Association of Emergency Physicians.
Dr. Domme currently serves as
Associate Director of a Family Practice Residency
Program at a large Mid-Western Medical Center.
He is also Clinical Associate Professor in the
Department of Family & Community Medicine at the
University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita.
Dr. Domme owned and operated Midwest Emergency
Physicians, serving as both Chairman and as a
staff physician for over ten years.
Dr. Domme belongs to several
state and national professional medical associations,
including Kansas Academy of Family Physicians,
American Academy of Family Physicians, American
Medical Association, Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical
Society, Society of Teachers of Family Medicine,
Association of Emergency Physicians, and several
others. |

Arthur
D. Hagan, M.D.
Dr. Art Hagen has been a cardiologist
for the past 36 years, during which time he has
been involved with research, teaching, and clinical
practice in the U.S. Navy and in private practice
settings. Dr. Hagen is a Fellow of the American
College of Cardiology and has published 29 abstracts,
11 book chapters, 2 textbooks, and more than 100
articles.
Dr. Hagen graduated from the
University of Iowa in 1956 and received his medical
degree in 1959 from the University of Iowa School
of Medicine. Following Flight Surgery Training
with the U.S. Navy, Dr. Hagen served an Internal
Medicine Residency and Cardiology Fellowship at
the U.S. Naval Hospital in San Diego, California
and completed a Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship
at the University of California, San Diego. He
served for four years as Chief of Cardiology and
for three years as Director of Clinical Investigation
at the Naval Regional Medical Center. Dr. Hagen
retired with the U.S. Navy after 20 years of active
duty. He then spent another four years as a Professor
of Medicine at the University of Utah School of
Medicine and Chief of Cardiology at LDS Hospital
in Salt Lake City.
In his private practice at the
Tulsa Heart Center and Stillwater Heart Center
in Oklahoma, Dr. Hagen provides all aspects of
cardiovascular diagnostic and treatment interventions.
His passion is the application of proven, natural
and complementary therapies for the prevention
of or slowing the progression of cardiovascular
diseases. Dr. Hagen is excited about Unicity's
research and the development of new preventative
products, and he currently recommends many Unicity
products for the care of his patients: Bios Life2,
Cellular Essentials, Fish Oil gel caps, Cardio
Essentials, and the Lean Control weight loss system.

Lori
Finlay Hamilton, M.S., APRN, B.C.
Nurse Practitioner, Integrative Healthcare Consultant
Lori Finlay Hamilton is a Nurse
Practitioner and President of her own consulting
company, Women Wisdom and Wellness. She received
her graduate degree from the University of Massachusetts,
and did her post- graduate work as an adult NP,
with prescriptive license, from the University
of Utah. Lori has more than ten years experience
in critical care and as clinical faculty at the
University of Utah's College of Nursing. Lori
worked as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) for a large
cardiology practice in Salt Lake City (SLC) before
assuming the role of Cardiology NP for the Veterans
Affairs Medical Center. In addition to her role
of patient management in the cardiology clinics,
she created, founded and managed a large Multi-disciplinary
Cardiovascular Risk Reduction Clinic that became
a national model.
Lori has been actively involved
with Unicity for ten years and is one of the founding
members of Unicity's Medical Advisory Board.
Lori continues to lecture on
integrative/preventative health and has invested
several years to become an expert in women's menopausal
issues. She is now certified as a menopause health
provider, dedicated to delivering customized health
options for Women. In addition to numerous articles,
Lori has authored a chapter in a major nursing
textbook and has lectured nationally for several
prominent pharmaceutical companies on numerous
cardiovascular topics.

David
A. Newsome, M.D.
Ophthalmologist
Dr. David Anthony Newsome is
an ophthalmologist with more than 20 years' experience.
He has worked and taught at institutions across
the United States, including Duke University in
North Carolina, Columbia University in New York,
University Hospitals of Cleveland in Ohio, the
National Eye Institute at the National Institutes
of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, Massachusetts
General Hospital, Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary,
Boston, Massachusetts, and Palmer Eye Institute
in Miami, Florida.
Since 1992, Dr. Newsome has served
as President of the Retinal Institute of Louisiana
New Orleans. For seven years, he was a Clinical
Professor of Ophthalmology at Tulane University
School of Medicine in New Orleans. Dr. Newsome
has served as Professor of Ophthalmology and Director
of Clinical Research in Retinal Dystrophies and
Degenerations at LSU Eye Center at Louisiana State
University Medical Center School of Medicine,
Senior Visiting Surgeon in the Department of Ophthalmology
at Charity Hospital at New Orleans, Associate
Professor of Ophthalmology and Director of the
Wynn Center for the Study of Retinal Degenerations
at Wilmer Ophthalmological Institute at Johns
Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore,
and Chief of the Section on Retinal and Ocular
Connective Tissue Diseases at the Clinical Branch
of the National Eye Institute National Institutes
of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. He has been a
Fellow at the Retinal Vascular Center at Wilmer
Ophthalmological Institute at Johns Hopkins University
Hospital, a Fellow in Retinal Diseases at Bascom
Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami,
and a Fellow in Retinal Diseases at Massachusetts
Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston.
Dr. Newsome has been on faculty
in Harvard's Postgraduate Course in Neuro-Ophthalmology
and served as Clinical Instructor in Ophthalmology.
He lectured on the Physiology of the Eye at Simmons
College in Boston, and served as Advisory Faculty
for Ophthalmologists-in-Training at the American
Academy of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology. Dr.
Newsome is a member of various associations for
ophthalmology and medicine including the American
Academy of Ophthalmology, The Macula Society,
The Retina Society, The Vitreous Society, Pan-American
Association of Ophthalmology, New Orleans Academy
of Ophthalmology, American Society for Laser Medicine
and Surgery, Inc., Association for Research in
Vision and Ophthalmology, and others. He was the
Founder of Eye Care, Inc. in Washington, DC, and
served as President of that organization for many
years.

Richard
H. Nalick, M.D.
Dr. Richard H. Nalick is a Clinical
Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the
University of Southern California, Keck School
of Medicine. He has a full-time practice in Gynecologic
Oncology and Complex Gynecology as well as Integrative
Oncology and Preventive Medicine for Women.
Dr. Nalick has a Bachelor of
Science in Microbiology and Biochemistry from
California State University in Los Angeles. He
completed work for a Master of Science in Bacteriologic
Biochemistry at the University of Southern California
and received his M.D. from the University of Southern
California, Keck School of Medicine. Following
graduation, Dr. Nalick fulfilled a Rotating Internship
at Los Angeles County - USC Medical Center. He
then served 2 years in the U.S. Army, including
1 year in Viet Nam, before completing his Residency
in Obstetrics and Gynecology followed by a Fellowship
in Gynecologic Oncology at Los Angeles County
- USC Medical Center.
Dr. Nalick spent eleven years
in full-time Academic Medicine at U.S.C. and has
20 years in private practice (1985-present). He
is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology
and in Gynecologic Oncology and is a member of
numerous societies and medical associations, including
The American College Of Obstetricians and Gynecologists,
The Society Of Gynecologic Oncologists, The International
Gynecologic Cancer Society, The American Society
Of Clinical Oncology, The American Society For
Colposcopy And Cervical Pathology, The Western
Association Of Gynecologic Oncologists, The American
College Of Surgeons, The Society Of Surgical Oncology,

Barbara H.
Schuman, ACSM-CPT, NSCA-CPT, ACE-LWMC
Certified Personal Trainer and Educator
Barbara's mission is to provide
motivation and resource information to help individuals
optimize their health through combining good nutritional
habits with exercise. As president of Diversified
Natural Healthcare, Barbara has worked with individuals,
corporations and organizations in Preventive Healthcare
Education. She also works closely with physicians,
pharmacists, nurse practitioners, personal trainers
and registered dietitians in providing health
education to the community.
Barbara has been a passionate
educator throughout her career. She holds a Masters
Degree in Teaching and has worked at elementary
and middle school levels. For nearly a decade,
Barbara served as an Administrator for a large
medical/surgical practice in Boca Raton, and her
commitment to educating others about lifestyle
changes as a means of prevention developed as
she witnessed individuals suffering from the results
of poor choices and regretful habits. As a community
volunteer, she has devoted many years to the development
of a private school and served as President of
the Board of Directors as it grew from a small
elementary school into a K-8 program of 650 students.
Barbara is a Certified Personal
Trainer accredited by the National Strength and
Conditioning Association. In March, she will graduate
from Fitness Institute International with what
is widely recognized as the most legally-defensible
certificate in the personal training industry.
This comprehensive education imbues Barbara with
expertise in Strength and Conditioning, Fitness
Testing, Functional Training, Nutrition Education,
and Weight Management.

Neal
Secrist, D.O.
Dr. Neal Secrist operates a Family
Practice and is board certified in that specialty.
Although his highest passion is true primary prevention,
he has an eagle-eye focus on total health assessment
and early disease detection.
As a published author and prominent
speaker, Dr. Secrist travels domestically and
internationally, teaching, coaching, and motivating
individuals to take control over their personal
health through prevention. His passion for preventive
health extends to medical missions where he leads
teams to help spread the good news to developing
countries such as Bolivia, Nepal, and Mexico.
Dr. Secrist's talent in translating complex medical
information into everyday terms allows him to
connect with unique audiences around the world.
Dr. Secrist worked as an Emergency
Physician for over a decade. He served two tours
with the United States Air Force as a Flight Surgeon,
accomplishing hundreds of flight hours in numerous
jets including the F-16 Fighter, B-1B Bomber,
T-38 and T-37 Trainers, and KC-135 Tankers. He
is married, has two beautiful girls, and enjoys
the diversions of flying, scuba and sailing as
well as international cultural living.
